shady places emma got a haircut and she looks so fresh and vibrant and alive. i read one of my friend's short stories (she's in an mfa program now) and i wanted to be able to give some criticism but i found myself loving all the words she had written, loving the way she described these women and how the world responded to them. i wish i could write like that again.
